FTP is one of the most common and oldest file transfer protocols. It has over the years evolved from its plain version to support more secure standards such as Secure FTP (SFTP) and FTP over Secure Shell (FTPS).
remiCrystal supports all the common FTP standards and it is very easy to have your reports delivered directly into an FTP directory. Please follow the steps below once you have created a task and added reports:
1. Switch to the Targets tab and click on the FTP/FTPS/SFTP button.
2. When the FTP Configuration window opens, provide a name and an optional description for the FTP Target. You may also choose to zip up all the reports prior to sending them to the FTP location.
3. Provide the FTP server address where you would like the reports to be sent to as well as the username and password used to authenticate against the server.
4. Select the FTP server type
5. The FTP port number will update to the default port for the selected FTP protocol however you can customize this as needed.
6. Click on the Verify button to validate the server details you have provided (Please make sure that remiCrystal is allowed to communicate through your Firewall).
7. Once verification has succeeded, click on the Browse button to select the folder on the FTP server where you like to have the outputs saved to.
8. Depending on your FTP server, you may need to select Passive and Ascii modes.
9. The other tabs on this screen are optional and are not required in a typical FTP setup.
